Thanks for the replies guys. I am probably gonna hit up the goon or perris with my new tube. Isn't it kinda dangerous to float tube the salt? Too many big fish(sharks) and strong tides/current. You guys are brave!

NO!!!! We fish the harbors mostly...only chance of anything big with teeth is when we tube the open water outside the harbors........you should give it a try!

I am not being a wuss....just being smart IMO. A couple years ago a 13 foot mako shark was caught inside san pedro harbor and more recently a great white shark attacked a kayaker in catalina. Not to mention the great whites spotted off newport beach. I am cool just tubing the fresh. If I wanna go salt I will do so on a boat, pier, jetty, or surf.
