Our secret Rendezvou

Today Cappo and myself decided to go out on a secret rendezvou (secret date) on a 1/2 day boat out of Marina Del Ray on the New Del Mar. We started by grabbing a quick bite to eat at Jack in The Box... which later proved to be a mistake. Once we finished eating we headed our way over to the gate to wait for the Reservations role call. Unfortunately, we couldn't pretend to pass off as Joe Shmoe under the reservations list. Every damn person that reserved showed up, even the party of 28. Finally we board the New Del Mar.

We headed out towards Santa Monica and make our first stop. Sand Bass, Calicos, and Cuddas were caught. I landed my first sand bass, but was short a few inches for legal, so we had to throw it back. After a few tries, I finally land my first legal sized Sand Bass. Not to long after, a 14 yr old girl lands a 28 lb halibut. I had to bow down to this little girl, she actually brought it in by herself.

To end our trip, we watched Vic clean out sharks with pupps and the monster hali... here are a few pics from our trip

Uh Oh .... Questions: 'waited on the reservation roll-call' ?! Hummmm 1) Do the guys with reservations get first shot at spots (on boarding) at tickets (office issued spot numbers)? 2) Is the reservation roll-call priority based on 'the order in which the reservation was called in'?

I'm this guy that pretty much fishes the same spot on whatever boat I ride and plan accordingly.

Appreciate the info as you guys seem to know MRD's policy.

hey Ron, they board the boat by reservations first, since they have no assigned spots. First call first served I guess. If I decide to go on that boat without a reservation, I sometimes slide in early by pretending to be Kevin Kim or whoever that doesnt step up when name is called.

Unfortunately all those pups were dead. The previous AM trip ran into a bunch of sharks and they decided to keep them.
