Saw the small tide change coming and figured low waves and maybe some clean water in the morning. Fished from 6am to 1pm (between the red lines)

Also saw the Solunar table said Thursday would be the best fishing this week. (first time using that thing)
As long as I got there in time for the clear water slack tide I was betting I could find a fish.
Stopped off at BF in the morning to drop off my 10' surf rod for a guide repair job. Made it to BCSB about 6:30am.
Tied on the brand new SWLCFM110 Metallic Sardine I bought from fisherman's access the other day. The current was still heading out a bit but I decided to go with it. First couple casts and a little guy pulls some drag and reminds me to tighten it up a bit. Realized I forgot the camera so I used the cell phone.

About this time I hooked a for sure Legal. I battled it for a good 4-5 minutes and had no way to land it on the 6lb test dropshot. It kept on making runs and seemed like it wouldn't tire out enough for me to grab it from the rocks. After like 15 tries I finally get a hold of it. 5 minutes and tons of runs, and this sucker still has the energy to flip right out of my hands and break the 6lb test. Dang! There went dinner  Would have been my best fish weight to line weight ratio if I didn't goof it up and let him wig out in my hand. At least I got to fight him for 5 minutes and a bunch of scurrying around on the rocks
Then a couple dudes showed up and tossed out some chovies for a 25" keeper butt and a 2' smoothound shark. When they left they gave me their chovies so I said the hell with it and threw them out. 5 mins later my rod is doubled and I'm thinking "ok, 10lb test, no problem right?" I fight the fish for a good 3 minutes and then I feel it. That horrible feeling of being wrapped around a rock and a fish pulling line through the rocks! Nooooo!
I was screaming in the back of my mind for a minute when the inevitable finally happened. SNAP! And I reeled up a broken 10lb leader on my C-rig :Crying::Crying::Crying: There goes another even bigger fish, and this time I didn't get to see what it was! Something very heavy and big enough to eat a whole chovie!
Oh well, back to the drop shot..

Total count was 10 halibut. I'm gonna count the legal I lost cause he was in my hands. Probably better he got away and lived to tell about it. No photograph of him obviously as it was a battle of epic proportions and pictures weren't even in my train of thought
All in good fun though and next time I'm gonna get those two monsters I lost. Thanks to the dudes fishin' next to me for the chovies.. I got to fight something big on them! Grats on your 25" as well.
Enjoy the pics. They're still there ;)
