I was so looking forward to returning to Parcher's after spending time there 3 weeks ago. It's such a great place to stay. But, best laid plans....:Rolls Eyes: I was all set to leave at 4am Thursday am. I had worked late the evening before and managed to get a phone call before heading home.....Sorry, you gotta work tomorrow.......DAYMMMMMMMM I was hopping mad, but went to work anyway. Managed to get out by 2pm, headed home, loaded the truck and got on the road around 5PM..of course, rush hour traffic. Once past the mountains and into Palmdale, trip went much faster. Finally arrived in Bishop around 9:30PM. Hadda go, gas up, and relax a bit before heading up the hill, so visited the local Indians Gave them a small donation and headed up the mountain. Pulled in somewhere around 10-10:30 PM and was greeted to a wild party (I will respect the drinkers and leave the details out) and campfire. Felt good to be wanted and worried about.....sorry everyone, I was so pissed, I really forgot I could call someone. Anyway, Grandpa fish helped me unload the truck and then it was time for a little party. Had some killer drink that was 3/4 ETOH with a spalsh of cranberry. Guess what, I relaxed like crazy.....hit the hay around midnight or so and slept like a baby. Woke up in the am and headed over for my pancakes and coffee.....After breakfast, the G" Fishes and I headed down to South Lake for a little fishing. I C&R ed mine. The bite was slow and all I got hit on was a red and gold Thomas Bouyant. Later in the day, headed over to Intake II...no love, but it was so beautiful. Ran into the crew talking about the big un caught on a little one. I love a good fish story!!!! We headed back to a great Spaghetti Dinner (Thanks so much Jared, it was fantastic!!!) After dinner, it was time to head down to the "Meeting" The G'fishes, Sue and I rode down and ran into a few savory characters. It was a blast watching Sansou yelling everytime his bird started spitting out the coins!!! OK, another donation to the Indians and it was time to head back to Parcher's and bed........It was quite chilly, but as soon as my head hit my pillow inside my warm sleeping bag, I was out like a lite. Suddently around 2:30 am, I hear this noise that sounded like a mouse being electrocuted. Two weird eeks and a scampering noise....I HATE MICE!!!!! zipped myself into the bag tightly and didn't sleep too well......Woke in the morning, I made Coffee, Granny cooked eggs and bacon.....yummmmm, thanks GF. Anyway, Grandpa fish had twisted my arm hard and talked me into the pack trip up the hill. Got a Horse name Clyde and Sansou got the mule....Mind you its been a very good number of years since I have ridden. Soon found out Clyde was an onrey horse in deed. He decided what he would do and what he wouldn't. He refused to cross the little snow there was on the switchbacks....finally guide had to lead him after he scared everyone by turning around.....pushing others. Guess what, I learned it was his first trip up the mountain. greattt......We arived safely at Long Lake to beautiful sky, warmth (For awhile) crystal clear H20, and some of the most beautiful fish (Brookies) I have ever seen. Caught a limit, but I released them....all on my trusty Thomas Bouyant. Anyway, Sansou and I gossiped the day away.......Thanks Rich for keeping the gal company. That air was really thin up there. It managed to be hot, then cold wind, rain and hail all within a few minutes, then get sunny and warm all over again. Thanks again Rich for offering to ride Clyde down the hill. I had high hope a male would be able to handle his spirit better than me........NOTTTTTTTT................Clude didn't behave down the mountain either. Luckily I was safe on the jackass Jesse.....thus, I called this my half azzed trip cuz I got the jackass for only half the trip. That evening after we traded cabins, Granny and I took the steaks we had brought up and headed over to Dana's fire pit. The company was the best and I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with everyone.
all too soon it was morning and time to head home. Goodbye Jared and Parcher's.....you treated us all so well, that I hope Team 57 will be back next year for more fun.

The trip hope was fun. Ironshrimp needed a ride home, and I was glad for the company. Headed to Schat's bakery to load up and fill the family's request for some good stuff. Stopped in Lone Pine and headed up to the mountains. Half azzed direction and we ended up in a campground. However, there was a beautiful, clear creek in the trees. Got in there and could see the trout swimming........no way was I going to leave without trying it out. Frustrating, but finally hooked up. Ironshrimp caught his 1st creek trout. Glad I was there to experience his catch. Me thinks he will be doing much more Fresh water fishing in the near future. I know I laughed and talked all the way home. I had a wonderful time. I will take this time to thanks Mike and Tammy for babysitting me You guys are the best!!!! Dana, great event, best Team 57 get together yet......And, all of Team 57 who attended...........you guys are the best. I enjoyed spending time with all of you. UHHH Greg M, sorry for the little Joke. I really didn't have any special unfiltered Mexican water just for you. I'll bring you some back when I go to Cabo......:ROFL::ROFL: A few pictures follow I messed up most of them according to my daughter (figures, I am mechanically challenged. Hope you enjoy them.....Tell we see everyone at Legends...........take care and thanks again.......OFG

OUTSTANDING photos!!

Thanks again Chris for all your TEAM 57 support..... its always a pleasure having you at the events!

You have a great circle of friends and it was very evident when everyone...... and I mean EVERYONE was asking where you were and all of us were concerned when you hadn't arrived in camp yet on Thursday evening....

We all breathed a big sigh of relief when you drove up!

Looks like you had a great couple of days, I should have joined you guys on the trail ride..... and it was fun spending the last night with all you around the campfire.....

See you at "Legends II"

OFG - I thought you were babysitting us!
I'm glad you made it up. It sounds like you had as much fun as we did. I don't know what your kids are talking about  I think the pictures turned out great! Awsome report!

Can't wait till next year to get out there again... seriously... won't wait that long. Just the beginning of summer and I'm already looking forward to the fall when the fishing at PVR will be more comfortable. ;) I melt in the heat.

I'm happy to see you got some skinny water fishing in. We almost stopped at Lone Pine as well, but we hadn't seen Onion Valley in so many years, we went up there instead.

I don't know how to explain this to Ironshrimp, but, the human tongue is suppose to curl lenghtwise, if you have the right gene. But it is never suppose to be folded in half sideways.

Chris, once again, I'm not there, you catch fish.

Great report OFG, glad to hear you had an enjoyable trip with the 57 crew! You took some nice pics up there too btw. Nice to see the snow melting has helped fill up the lake, Lauren and I were fishing in front of the rocks Mike is pictured behind about a month ago! Hope to carpool up with you for next year's trip.

I have the grand daughters until Aug. 23rd. Chris offered
