Ron, should I NOT toss my dead meat overboard when the pups are in close to the boat?

Perhaps saving them to be tossed out by the deckies would be a better idea?
Where should I put them, by the bait tank?

Thanks for the report/pics.

Senpai, sorry to hear that the WSB or YTs didn't make an appearance for you guys.
It proves to show that when you have TOO MANY seasoned anglers on a boat, it could actually scare fish away!!

You'll get em next time!!

As always, an informative read. Thanks!

Hi one_leg,

If the deck doesn't remember it, a 'heads-up' skipper will often announce and place one of their white plastic buckets near the bait tank. Sometimes the captain will not bother mentioning it unless he plans to stay in the area and or on the present hook waiting for things to develop!!

Hint: If they make a point of keeping bad bait out of the water, by encouraging changing bait more often than usual, you'll be fishing there for a while !! Half-dead bait are easy targets for the dogs and just encourages them to hang around..... sooooo

Also if the skipper sees good sign, but feels there's dogs in the area ...... he'll have the deck only chum one or two pieces of bait at a time !!

Hi Funjunkie74,

Thank you much. Always look forward to your very informative and upbeat reports. I wasn't too worried about catching the two big stars but focused on the 3-Bs !!

Fishing only plastics on HD SW-Bass gear, I don't expect to do much good on a fishy determined to make it to the kelp anyways ...... no biggie !!

Thanks for the encouragement anyways. Yes, there was quite a bit of talent on the boat on the boat and stil ..........

Hi again one_leg,

ha ha ha That's good !! I like it !! No, I sometimes forget my audience, NVA stands for the North Vietnamese Army regulars I and commrads faceds as USMC grunts (1st Batallion 9th Marines- 'The Walking Dead') wayyyy up at the demilitarized zone, Quang-Tri province !! '67-'68. I've seen enough blood and carnage already !!

Ron, I guess the KILL SLAY REPEAT comment might not have been very appropo. I hope you'll accept my apology.

My neighbor was in the ARVN. He is a Buddhist and his family won't even kill the gophers tearing up their backyard.

Sorry guys.

Hi one_leg yet again,

No biggie as ....... that catagory of expressions is common and understood by us old guys as a sign of intensity for 'the hunt' !! That's part of the moo-moo fishing experience ... after all .....we ALL kill fish !!
