First, a big thank you to FNN, Fisherman 57, Sansou, Sierra Smitty, Parchers, Rainbow Pack Outfitters, Chuck (Koshaw), Theron, and everyone else, I had a fantastic FNN Sierra Getaway. No doubt, the fish story of the trip was the little brownie that turned into a four pounder (see” FNN Parchers Report at South Lake!!...”). The friends, fishing, food (both Parchers and Chef Theron’s) were great, the weather was perfect (OK, except for a couple of brief mountain outbursts), and everything else were wonderful.
I did alright fishing, (all CPR’d) but I actually started with two days of fishing on the Owens. The two days at the Owens produced 25 rainbow and 5 browns down by Benton Crossing. On Saturday I went on the horse pack-in trip to Long Lake, and was quite lucky: 16 rainbow, 8 brown and 4 brookies. Nothing was of the 3 trips was over 3 pounds, and the Long Lake trout were feisty, but not large. Almost all of the fish were caught with small Mepps spinners (some with barbs, some barbless), and a few were caught with salmon eggs.
Although I cannot match the nature pictures or fish stories of some of the other FNN posters, I have an underwater digital camera and I took some underwater trout pictures from Long Lake. What I did was I caught a trout with a tiny hook (using a salmon egg) and the fish was barely caught on the outside of its lip. The fish was not being damaged, so I stuck the rod in a tree branch, and let the fish swim free in the water. I then stuck my camera in the (cold) water and took some shots. Many photographs were just blurs, or partial shots, since the fish kept turning, but these three photographs were the best. Then I released the trout, unharmed, back to Long Lake.

Again, thanks everyone for a great time in the mountains.
