Great time!!! That's an understatement......All fish CPR'd....

Got to meet a bunch of new FNNer's and hung out with sum really cool peeps. The fishing was good, and the scenery was to die for. We loved Parchers. The cabins were nice and the whole resort is laid out so cool. Thanks for hosting us Smitty! And thanks Dana 4 setting this up. This needs to be the first annual….

Our trip started out at 11am Thursday. We ended up getting stranded in Ridgecrest due to a recalled Audi fuel pressure regulator(Recall went out last Thurs!!!>:/) We ended up getting a rental and leaving the car in Ridgecrest. Had to jump thru some hoops 2 get the parts there by Sunday, but we picked it up on the way home….$900.00 later…..(Should be covered by the warranty tho)

Made it to Parchers around dusk. Many were congregated around the campfire at Sansou’s joint. Had sum beers and good times swapping stories and meeting peeps.

Next morning I got up and headed out to PVR with Bones, Big Red, and my buddy Harvey. Got to the Hydro-plant around 9:30 and Harvey hooks up a nice 15” bow first cast. There were 5000 6-8” browns swarming at our feet. They bit occasionally on crawlers for sum cute lil action….Bones caught a couple nice bows too. I just caught some small brownies. Big red was intent on catching his very first brown.

Bones' brownie...Note the model-type hands....LOL!!!

As the day wore on and so did the temps, I started to call it a day when, suddenly, red hooks up on a lil brown. I look over to see him bendo when he starts shouting, “ It’s eating him! Something’s eating him!!!!!” I see a LARGE fish swirl deep below, and tell him to reel! He kept saying”, But he’s not hooked!!! He’s eating him!”

He was now MAJOR Bend-O, and I grabbed the net. The fish was thrashing and fighting for it’s life! He got the fish close in and we could see it was a monster brown! We were hooten and hollerin as we coached Red on this(His FIRST) brown trout. As the fish go close to a boulder near shore, I see his rod go slack, and I was SOOOOO Bummed Then, (This is where it gets good) we all were watching the fish as it sat next to the boulder in 2-3’ of water. I saw the fish look around and spot the baby trout,(still hooked and on red’s 4lb. Line. Instead of swiiming away after the initial fight, this hungry monster goes Discovery Channel on that poor fish. It swam right up to it, bit it midway up the body, then inhaled it! We were all watching this unfold right before our eyes! As soon as I saw those jaws clamp shut, I yell to Red to start reeling it in so I can net the hungry beast. He put sum pressure on it but was worried that it still wasn’t “hooked.” After a few moments of more fighting, Red muscled the thing within netting range, and I scooped it up! We were hi-fivin’ and hollerin! It was a great moment!
Harvey has the pics, so ya’ll will havta wait! Sorry! We marveled at the small dead brown inside this 4lb’s mouth! This fish was never actually hooked, he just was intent on eating Red’s baby!

NICE JOB RED!

After that, we photo’d and released her to fight another day! Later on we were joined by the Pirate crew, but the bite was nil. Headed out for a great pizza/beer party in Bishop.

We took a tour of North Lake,

Sabrina, and Intake two(where we caught nothing but visions of SARL) We ended our day slaying bows and browns at the outflow of Sabrina. That was fun! Caught lotsa 9-11' fish.

Ate spaghetti dinner at the lodge that night and had a great time recounting that story in the diner at Parchers.

Next day, we awoke, and 7 hardy souls, (Me, my wife Julie, Harvey, Farmacist, Webfoot, Webfoot’s sis Annette, and Koshaw’s friend, Theron) set out at 8am for the 8 mile round trip hike to the Treasure Lakes above South lake. The hike was somewhat strenuous but amazingly beautiful! Annette is a stud, cuz she and Webfoot made the hike the day before, and she did both in FLIP FLOPS! I can’t say enough about the beauty, so I’ll let the pics tell the story.

The fishing was outstanding on eggs at the lake. We found a nice perch above a waterfall in a cove and we’re site casting to rainbow/golden hybrids, and cutthroats.
The fish were stunning! We all caught several fish apiece, and had a blast.

After a few hours of stellar wheather, a freak Sierra storm quickly blew in and drove us out with a sprinkle that we feared would turn to rain or snow.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l191/gregmadrigal/57%20Hours%20in%20the%20Sierras/P6202893.jpg

Webfoot, Annette, and Farmacist ended up splitting off at a fork on the way back to see Long lake (something I think their feet regretted later!LOL!) Half the FNN crew were on a horseback pack-in trip to Long Lake that day as well. We returned to civilization and to more pizza/beer!J

Spent the round campfires swapping stories with many peeps. It was so fun! Theron fixed a gourmet dinner for Harv, Julie, Me , Webfoot, Koshaw, and Brett. Thanks Theron!!!!

Last day(travel day home), we spent eating a gourmet breakfast (Thanks again Theron!)

We headed out around 11am in our rental Camry. We quickly fished Aberdeen for 1 mini stocker. Then, we only had a few minutes to fish, cuz we had to return the rental, but Lone Pine Creek was on FIRE!!!! Every egg drifted was a beautiful pristine trout in the 1-1.5lb range. I am sure I lost a 2lber+. Harvey and I caught 3 and we had to leave a WFO bite, cuz the wife was yellin from the car. :/

Got to Ridgecrest at 2:30, and the car was all ready to go! Returned the rental, repacked everything, and we were home by 6.
