this past wednesday, went on the Caliber out of newport 3/4 day for some bassin and maybe yellows....no pics but cookie cutter calicos 14 inchers were wide open. 2 yellows hooked at frog rock and only one landed. Got a nice cuda with some light bass gear....... nothing big or worth mentioning, but weather was great and things look good over there.

Thursday had some time to just mess around newport with 4 inch Big Hammer swimbait.....Landed a nice fatty...guessing 3 but who knows......but one of my better spotties in a while.

Read all these fishing reports and got a fishing erection. Toook my boat out to the 371 to take a shot at the albacore.

Went out with my friends dave, winnie, and O. Left Orange County at midnight, get there after fueling around 230. Launch , bait and get to 371 before grey light.

FOG WAS THICKKKKK!! A little creepy but oh well. Cleared up later in the day and turned up to be a perfect day out on the water...enjoy the pics..

this is after the fog got better, traveling at night...kinda creepy...radar is a must

First hook up---black/purple mini jet......7 am. 65 degree water, little 15 pounder....

20 minutes later.....black/ purple mini jet again...bigger model 25 ish.....

then trolll. troll. and more troll... didnt hear too much going on radio. Seems like lots of wasting gas. No boat pressure at all. Barely anyone out there...must be the fuel prices.....

stopped on a dozen pattties and finally found some that produced at the 425.

Saw elvis, threw bait , and he sank out.. Pretty exciting.

All in all a great day on the water......patties were far and few to find compared to last weeks outting. Very poor visiblity with the fog so best of luck to the tournament guys tommorow...

Glad the gamble paid off, with the gas prices being so high. Nice job on locating the fish and catching them. Three days of fishing in a week, I so jealous. I want a job like yours. Thanks for the great report.
