mammoth lakes tend be colder so either wear neoprenes or sweats under your breathables

Agree. You should wear neoprene waders and fleece pants underneath. Breathable waders might be OK if you layer with fleece and thermos. The water is quite cold in the lakes around Mammoth. Depending on your body temperature, you might be OK with light waders. But, if you plan to fish for more than a few hours, then warmer waders might be a good idea. Good float tubing lakes are Mary, George & Mamie. Have fun.
