Hi all!! I am thinking about float tubing now for the first time and so I need some help. What do I need besides a float tube? Can I float tube anywhere? Are there regulations and rules to float tubing?

Tube, fins, neoprene boots, waders, PFD, and a whistle are your basic necessities. Most lakes don't require the use of waders, but some non-body contact lakes like Irvine do. You'll have to check the lake you intend on fishing what the regs are for float tubing. Some lakes only allow tubing in certain areas, while others don't even allow it.

I know for sure that you can't tube Lake Cachuma.
