Couldn't help it. Had to go try my hand at some hali's again while it lasts.
Got up early at 1:45 and couldn't sleep. On the road by 3am and with the traffic and slow driving, made it to the reserve by 4:20am.

Couldn't coax any hali's to bite so I thought I'd try to catch some baitfish with a sabiki rig. While jigging the sabiki I accidentally snagged this little fish..

Then come 6am I headed across the street to the beach. That's when the real fun began. Hooked up two shorties before 6:30am on the "TJ sardine" color LC110. (This time they didn't want the Nishiki color?!)

I was stoked with the LC fish and couldn't seam to draw any more bites on the lure. Swapped out for the drop shot and picked up a few more..

Then I went back to the LC again to see if I could find a legal for the day.
No such luck, but this guy at 19-20" was a nice fight and I couldn't have asked for more..

But, as luck would have it, the fish gods had one more planned for me on the drop shot again.

With that, I decided to pack it up and head home about 1:30pm with a total of 8 hali's under my belt. (the fourth fish I caught on the LC was released before his photograph) Another great outing for me! I caught those four fish on that cracked up LC. I guess it works better when it's all beat up! No legals today but the one fought great. Thanks for reading and enjoy the pics. Halibut look neat!
