Yesterday, I hit Weir Pond again after I got off work, Got there at 5:20 out by 6... this is why.
Showed up, its cold and windy. I start throwin my powerworm with no love for a bit, then switch to Orange, and first cast WHAMO!- a little stocker, and another here and there. Got a small brown, and then i cast 20 ft to my left towards a thicket of reeds, and I'm bringing it in, And I see this NICE alper chasin down, but he saw me, tried swipping my worm but missed and swam off. I was in AWE! I casted in the same spot again, and started reeling in real slow, and i feel this dead weight like Seaweed at the end of my line, then i feel a small tug, and I SWUNG for the fences! MADE IT FEEL THE FREAKING STEEL!, then my drag goes BZZZZZZZZ and i see it jump, and on its back fin, A YELLOW TAG FROM THE DERBY!!! HOLY CRAPPP IM ON A FISH THATS WORTH AT LEAST 50 DOLLARS!!! I CANT LOSE HIM! so i played him for a long time and got him out. I threw him in my trunk and FLOORED IT to the South Lake Boathouse for a picture!! It wasnt that big only 3.4... but its a TAGGED FISH!
anywho, i still have to redeem my tag for whatever its worth..
