I know there used to be a 6-Pack out of HB called the Rail Time...but I'm not sure if it is still there.

You are going to have more luck finding a 6pack in LB. Try the MarDiosa, Dreamer, or Old #7.

Bongo's is more of a "tourist" type 6 pack charter. At least that's what one of the captain's that run's the bongo's tells me. If your mainly looking for pelagic's you might want to consider looking at the Ultra out of Newport Landing. It's a 50ft Delta that takes 8 people max on overnight and 2 day trips. Awesome boat and crew and they consistently get you on the fish.

I will be doing a 2 day trip on the Ultra in mid June looking mainly for seabass and yellowtail.

Thanks for the ideas guys , Ultra sounds good .

Id really like to find a small boat , with a captain who knows his stuff ,
just for me , my friend and a client who is coming into town.

Ricky is right....the Ultra is a great boat, and VERY fishy. Brian and Doug do a great job. My only gripe about the Ultra is the price. For LESS money you can jump on the Old #7 (food and beer INCLUDED) or the Dreamer (you can bring your own beer).

Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of these boats. No matter which boat you select you should have a good time!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Not sure if the 6 packs are the same up where you guys live, but down here they all play the "last-minute-fuel surcharge" game....it stung me for under a few hundred when I chartered a 6 pack last summer.

Hi Sansou, we have a trip on the Ultra next week, they did call me and tell me they have to add a fuel surcharge. $ 260. OUCH! Still going out though. I don't think the Landings do this unless they really have to. Even the Cattle prices went up. This is the first time in a number of years Newport Landing has ever added a surcharge on any of our trips. I'm sure a twin diesel cranking at 15+ knots, burns a lot of oil.... It really sucks, but they gotta make money too. Its turning into a rich mans sport..... Thanks G.W. B! :)
