Hey whats happening everyone my name is Richard.
Im 17 and a devoted fisherman it took me about a month
to learn how to use a baitcaster and conventional reel.
I just got my license and truck, ive been
ocean fishing alot and only been on one charter boat
which was a month ago. Ill tell you right now it was
boring to me because all it was, was the CPT saying
"Were in about 180 feet of water were going to
scout out the area so let em drop." Ill tell you right now
I hate that kind of fishing. So i was wondering what is
my best chance at catching a yellowtail and off of
charter boat should i go on. I figure they have had to go
on their run by now and im dying to catch since i never had.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME TO READ THIS AND
ANY ANSWERS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED

maybe you can try looking at different landings and see what their fish count is like. That can probably help you determine which boat to go with...then again it is fishing and there could be a chance that you wont catch one on that boat...

San Diego 3/4 day trip to the coronados is probably your best bet for catching a yellow, right now at least.

Yellowtail fishing can be pretty spotty at times. The best way is to stay on top of the message boards, and when they start hitting, call in sick, and go for it. Another way is to hang around your local tackle shop for up to the minute reports. I don't know what area you live in, but Kenny's rod and reel in Upland is a great place to hang out.
