View Full Version : Reel for Carrot Stix 7'3"

What would be a good reel to pair up with a Carrot Stix 7'3" baitcast rod?
Trying to put together a decent surf fishing set up. Got a good deal on the rod, now I need a reel to go with it. Been a while since I surf fished...I've been mostly lake fishing and going out 3/4, one day ocean trips.
I do have a sealine X30SHV and a Pinnacle VS 30 I've been using for deep sea...should I just use one of those on the carrot stix?

Try the Daiwa Luna 103, 203 or 253. Great balance and feels very nice on the Carrot Stix. Used the same set-up myself last Sunday. ;) :D

shimano calcutta ct-100, 150, 200, 250 perfect choice same goes with daiwa luna like wingnut has last sunday.

Those are a couple of the ones I was a looking at! Thinking I may go with the luna. Whats a good general lb. # for the line?
