I was looking forward to this trip from the second I came back from opener... i got up there thursday night, left for south lake late the next morning. got there prolly around noon. it was cool to see all the ice still on, but that also meant we'd have to hike to the inlet... so we put on waders and me and my parents were on our way.

destination looked nice and open. only two others fishing here...
Fishing was wide open on almost anything you wanted to throw in there. i found better luck on baits like NC's and Gulp eggs. Kept at it for a few hours and got kind of bored of the same sized fish over and over. I only kept 4 fish, only the ones that got the hook deep. Last fish of the day was also the biggest, a male hookjaw heading upstream to spawn. Im gonna guess it was around 1.5 pounds.
Hit up the creek on the way back....

cleaning my south lake catch at the end of the day^ (made for some good fish tacos)
Saturday- My friend told me he was up in Bridgeport staying at Dock and Als on the Robinson Creek. So i headed out at 8:30 and got up there by 10. Afterward we just completely slayed the fish in the creek, salmon eggs and mini jigs in natural colors worked the best for me. There's a lot of fish in those pools and even in some of the runs which seemed too rough for fish still produced well. We spent a whole day out there and finally called it a day at 5.

got this shot of the upper twin before leaving.
Sunday- I decided to stay local and hit up the bishop creek middle fork, we started at cardinal and found it pretty fished out.... my dad did manage one small brown though.

one of the fatter ones i pulled out (it was released)
All fish were on salmon eggs or panther martins. It was a good trip over all and I look forward to the memorial day trip..... maybe i'll try south again, just next time without all the ice.
