Took my son to NPH today about 12 noon. We fished from a public dock that we discovered during a trip to Balboa Pier a few weeks ago. Fishing was slow until the tide started moving again.
First fish was a YFC on a GCSW. Forgot my camera in my car, so no pic.
Second fish was a SFC on the same. Really nice sized one too.
By then I decided to go back to my car and get my camera, glad I did too.
My son picked up this bass on mussel right off the side of the dock....
He caught 4 more, 3 small Calicos and a perch.
The Barracudas were out in large numbers. I caught 8 of them. I realized after hooking the first 3 that using an LC FM isn't a good idea. They did a little damage to the finish on the LC but at the end of the fight, the LC tore those 3 cudas up pretty good. All 3 that were caught on the LC had the center hook in their mouths with either the front or rear trebles buried in their skulls. I switched to a green mac kroc after that to minimize the damage.
