We launched around 0530 a little after we planned. Got bait from Jeff at Ca Bait CO. Nice mix of dine and chovy, 3-5 inch stuff, perfect size for all types of fishing. We headed south and out about 4 miles to look for the bones. Trolled from off San Clemente Pier and out 4 down to past the domes for nada. As mentioned, nothing but dolphin. We went in and tried drifting Box Cyn for a couple short bass and mackie's. Moved up to off the domes for notta. The wind was starting to come up by early afternoon. We then moved up the San Mateo kelp, tried drifting around there hoping for a fly lined Calico but no takers. After that the wind was up and we stopped at a few of out old Hali spots for Nada. Very slow day fishing, they just did not want to bite. We called it a day at 1630 due to the wind and poor condtions.

Thanks for the report.
Sounds like you really put in the effort.

A bad day of fishing beats... Fabing some fishing rod storage/holders any day of the week.

At least you got out and gave it a shot. That's why it's call fishing and not catching.

Looks like the boneheads eluded everyone today. Hopefully they will be back tomorrow.

Hesbros, disappointing day, eh? Excellent effort!!!! Here's the real irony: you got out there on a weekday to avoid the crowd and got bupkus. At least you weren't skunked.

All of you are correct, at least we got out. It had been awhile since my wife got to go out so I was really hoping for some catching. Though she too is just happy to be out. Water was 59 in the am and the warmest we seen was 62.9.
