Here is a simple recipe for those of you who may want to
know how to BBQ a PB trout.

First of all catch and clean your trout.:)

Next, lay out all of your ingredients.

Two Limes sliced into wedges, three cloves garlic sliced, olive oil, sea salt and fresh ground pepper.

Fill inside of fish with lime wedges and garlic slices.

Add olive oil , inside and out, so salt and pepper stick onto fish. Salt fish inside and out, add fresh ground pepper.

Now wrap your fish in foil, making sure that there are no holes.

Double wrap if necessary.

Next, open a few beers and use left over lime wedges.

The BBQ should be heated to between 275-325 degrees.

Heck since your outside might you might as well light your
tiki torches and firepit.

This fish was over 4 lbs. So I wanted to make sure to cook it all the way through. The foil will help keep the fish moist. I cooked it 10 minutes, on each side......TWICE
Then 5 minutes on each side once....

10 flip...10 flip...10 flip...10 flip.. 5 flip...5 flip....done.
Your times may vary..

Carefully remove the fish from BBQ, on cookie sheet.
Cut foil....HOT..
http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll210/SoCalGuy7/Trout%20BBQ%205-10/DSC08622.jpg

I sliced the fish at the head, middle and tail. And used a spatula to remove the meat.

http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll210/SoCalGuy7/Trout%20BBQ%205-10/DSC08623.jpg
Once you have the meat off of one side, you can cut through the bones at the head and lift out all of the bones.

http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll210/SoCalGuy7/Trout%20BBQ%205-10/DSC08625.jpg
Serve with steamed broccoli.
Rice... (Boiled in chicken broth, with sauteed garlic, with fresh tyme, chives, salt & pepper.

Serve with lime wedges.

Best trout I've ever had.

What, no wall mount? It's a good thing you scaled it first, they taste better that way. Steamed in their own slime would not make a very good sales pitch. Glad you got to eat that thing.

Why do you put the trout on/in the bbq if you're going to wrap it in foil? I would understand if it was open to the air/bbq. I also read where you said that would then dry the fish out?

I'm new to eating trout ... but willing. Just, maybe a little slow.

Are there other recipes on this board also?

Putting the fish in foil, then BBQ ing it, cooks the fish like an oven...Just hot air.

If someone was to put a larger sized trout on the grill (no foil ) the outside of the fish would be dried out and the inside still would be raw.

BBQ ing a trout outside keeps the fish smell outside as opposed to inside the house too.

There are a lot of recipes here on this section...

SocalGuy: From June 19 to June 21 you will be undergoing a rigorous examination of your BBQ Trout Skills at Parcher's Resort. For the betterment of mankind, and in true altruistic sacrifice, I have designated myself the official BBQ trout tasting Judge. Bring your BBQ trout "A" game!! (FYI: I just picked up some cedar planks and plan on "planking" some trout fillets on the grill!!)

Fixed my trout up the other day this way. All I can say is :UDaMan:

Had to go out and catch a couple more so I can make if for my sister. Lunch today!

Try squeezing some lemon with salt and pepper over your broccoli.

Thanks!
