After getting a few suggestions from this site i decided to head for the horseshoe kelp today. Woke up at 7am, and waited for my friend until 920! O man i was so mad. While driving to LB i tried inputting the cordinates into this temporary hand held gps i got just for today and it gave me wrong the wrong spot! So i had to go big 5 and buy another hand held gps. Messing with it while i drive i notice this gps does the same damm thing! So off to another big 5 to exchange it. At this time it was about 1030 already. Finally got to Long beach at 11.

Bought half a scoop of chovies and sardines and turned on the pump and realize it stopped working! wtf?!?(so we had to manually change the water with a bucket all day.) Got to horseshoe at around 1130 and saw 2 charter boats there. They looked like they didnt do that well. We stayed there for 30 mins or so and left because my cousin and my friend was getting sea sick.

At this time i was really ****, Anticipated all night about today, Waited all morning for laggers, 2 messed up GPS and a broken bait pump. Now we gotta go back in but im glad we did. Fishing around the wall for 2 hours we caught around 20 fish total. I was so shocked cause of the overcast but overall it was a good day. It ended very well with a nice halibutt my cousin caught! 26 1/2 inch long over 6 lbs. Farmed quite a bit of huge rays or halis. Drag peeling like crazy and snapped there goes the line.

Here are a few pixs of the fishes we caught. The Bass were ok size except for some dinks. The mackeral was surprisingly big.

Looks like you guys did pretty well at the end of the day. Better than being at work. Get your buddies some seasick meds for next time and hopefully you'll do better at the horseshoe.

thanks for all your replies.

BR- I will have pix up as soon as i am done with it. Or who knows maybe i might just sell it and geta 26 or 28 footer =) then ill post that boat up. You were right once youre in the water 21 footer is pretty darn small.

sparta fish - lol if i get them an alarm clock i think ill need one of those flying on that flies around and wont stop ringing until you get up and chase after it and stop it. LOL

I will suggest ginger to him. He did take 2 pill of bonine (dramamine is weaker) and he still got sick!

As much as i want to leave them behind, i wont enjoy my day knowing what i did to them. I love fishing with company and seeing them catch fish. Makes the trip well worth it.

I usually fish weekends. I don't know if I'll be a good enough guide for the horseshoe. I've only been there twice and they were always on a sportboat. I'll PM you my number, if we ever hookup, I'll gladly chip in for gas and bait and whatever else.
