hey all,
my old man and i took the trip up 395 for the opener, we managed to find places that we were lucky to see someone else fishing. basically nymphed the begeezes out of every creek we went to and it was easily the best 2 days of fishing i have evr had. there was a point where i literally had to rest from fighting fish every cast. they all were hefty in size. i'd say an average of 3lb or more. my dad landed one of the biggest browns in his life, it was funny to see him all giddy at the sight of it. here are the pics:

I don't recognize that creek, would you be willing to say which one it was, my first thought was Hilton Creek.. Huge fish for such a small body of water.

Don't expect much action on the Lower Owens as its running over 600 CFS, at that rate it will be overflowing the banks in some areas. Hit the Upper Owens instead.

what flys were they hitting if you dont mind me asking.... going up to taboose creek, goodale creek, and lower owens this weekend.

early morning and later evening they were hitting kern emergers pink & yellow, mid day they were hitting red san juan worms. split shots made a big difference to get down to them in the deeper holes. have fun
