Got a call from my Buddy Jay who said he had the week off and had the itch to fish. Say No more I was in. We took off on Thursday night to Mammoth where we were staying. Im going to keep it short. We fished Crowley on Friday morning until we got blown off. Then head to InTake 2 for the first time. Limit fishing. Nothing big, biggest going about 2 pounds. Saturday we headed up to South Lake with no luck. The Lake was Still Iced over so we went back to InTake 2. Jay was able to pick up his first Brown. Sunday we fished Twin Lakes with a ton of C-N-R. Did keep my limit. Sad part was they were all Browns. Sorry!!!! Heres a few pics.

Yes, that is Twin Lakes in Mammoth. I have a friend that lives there at Tamarack. He set us up on a pretty good spot. They had not stocked the lake yet this year. We must have caught 30 plus browns while fishing that spot. Bigger fish where all released. All fish came on the Dreaded Threaded Night Crawler. Have used any other bait in 5 years. This was taught to me by FNT.

Fish On!

Troutman Dan,

You guys totally scored. A guy posted that he wanted to fish for browns and where could he get them at. Looks like you found the answer for him.

Thanks again for your post and the pics of the nice browns

Good job on the browns. I'll be going up for my first trip of the year on May 24, 25, 26 and 27. Did you check out or hear anything about Lake Mary, how is the campground, is it open ?

Lake Mary had Ice still on it. The road was open. The Lake is probably ready to go with the great weather we've had.

There are 14 Brookies in that pic. Brookies where cruisen the shores at Twin Lakes in Mammoth. They were all about 8"-10". Very easy to catch. Toss a worm and they were all over them.

Awesome photos and post...it's been awhile since we fished. Can't forget the time that I took you out at Crowley and a trout took you rod and reel in the water from it standing vertically in a rod holder...lol.

Are all those brown trout? You should practice CPR with browns since their numbers are dwindling
