Sorry, No PICS, wasn't planning on fishing today...
when visiting in-laws in Oceanside, but someone else who was visiting also wanted to wet a line so we left the women and children and spent the day at the pier(for once, I was thankful I didn't need a liscence since I left mine at home).
It was my first time at Oceanside Pier and here is what is good about that pier:
- close parking $3.00 all day
- "clean" public restroom on the pier
- very long, a lot of room to fish
- bait shop on the pier
We brought a couple of easy chairs and ended up being there about 5-6 hours, it was real nice and relaxing.
As far goes the fish count, the people next to us had caught about 4-5 white croakers and we ended up with 1 shiner perch each on squid. I think we could have had more but we were using what we had, big poles with fat line. Much better with light tackle I imagine...
