Perch fishing

i fish salt in cape cod Massachusetts every day during the summer but, i am new to california salt water fishing. i am going to be throwing a Carolina rig. what pound test line should i be using. i am thing either 4 6 or 8?

The lighter the better, so either 4 or 6.

6 pound test is ideal. Make sure that you have the "Perch Crack". ;)
