The only cats that I know of are the mountain lion type cats. I think some of the Bishop waters have catfish, but the higher elevation waters would be too cold for catfish.

try Buckleys Ponds, or Saunders Pond

I don't know if there are cats up in Bishop, but there are cats in Diaz lake in Lonepine. I was up there a month ago and caught trout and catfish. All on salmon eggs.

Saunders isn't worth your time.

Buckleys is located north of Warm Springs Rd. before you get to the river. It is not well marked so you'll need to do some exploring.

Millpond north of Bishop has some too apparently. That is easy to find.

There are catfish in the Owens River in the Lone Pine/ Independence area. Not quantities but I have seen them. We always make a side trip on the way or the way home for a little Bassin' on the river.

Yep,

Diaz, Lower lower owens river, Klondike Lake, Haiwee Resevoir, and some of the bishop canals have them too.

Thats the truth I live only 20 miles from there and used to fish it at least once a week when it was open...caught my biggest trout ever (4 1/2lbs 22in long) there.......only people that fish there now are friends of Los Angeles Power and Water staff that live there and have the entire lake to their-selves.
