Thanks for the write up Ron. It was nice getting to learn from a seasoned master of plastics. I will be using them a lot more in the future since they really do work well. That way I will not have to worry about the days when the live stuff ain't available.

As far as ghetto dad is concerned, I am always happy to have him man the grill. I think his real place is in the kitchen. But I am sure that he ain't gonna go for the barefoot and pregnant part. :p

The poor guy didn't enter the jackpot. But catching a ling on a Slurpie type trout grub should probably be cause for disqualification anyways.
Seems like the guys with the big plastic catfish spinning rods are always the ones to catch a big fish and not be in the JP.8-) Maybe they got no confidence?

Gmoney is a great guy with a great SUV and I think he is totally cool.
Thanks Gmoney for the lift to and from my cribbage.....totally!!!

I thought that red line was the Cajun stuff. My bad.

Ron, thanks again for everything. I thought I was in trouble when I overheard you telling your buddy that a rig like mine didn't belong on a boat like the Victory. I was relieved when you told me that you were worried that it might get nicked. I didn't know whether you meant scratched or pilfered. I try my darndest to avoid anything that might send it to the ash can of tackle history. I will be getting some stuff I can worry less about shortly. I avoid guides with inserts after my Daiwa guide cracked in four places. Never again will I rest my guides on the edge of the bait tank. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Hi Ricky-Ray,

Don't downplay your reports they are excellent .... and assuredly always read and appreciated. I have time to invest in reports; whereas, many ....... use precious free time from work or family to share.

Hi one_leg,

Thanks for the 'caught-on' detail .... missed asking ! Was he using the reel upside down? Those are the guys you really have to watch out for ..... no kidding !

Glad you had success with the plastics on that trip. There are times when NO plastics will work and if someone does catch something ... it kinda perks me up if I've been beaten down too much !! Sure helps on refining ones approach to a catchy one too!!

Look forward to next time and will faithfully watch the rendezvous board for a trip on a day I can fish.

Ron, I'd fish with you a lot more if the busses ran 24 hours like some of them do here in Orange County.

The 50 stops at Long Beach State. The LB busses go beddy bye a lil after dark. I gotta get a vehicle?

Gmoney is the guy to ask about how they held their rods.
He was one of the only people daring enough to get anywhere near those guys.
