Surf fishing - Where to start?

I read the how-to that is stickied at the top of the page and I am pretty sure i have all the gear I need to go.

My question is where would be a good place to start? I live in the OC so im sure the beaches here are closer, but which one is a good one to go to?

Bolsa Chica's a pretty good place to start in OC.
