No Rail Numbers

The way it ought to be. :)

The way it should be up and down the coast. Keeps everyone awake, aware, and in front of their lines. :)

Thanks for the report.

Nice report again Ron! I remember when the Premier was based out of Pierpoint Landing. I loved that boat! Nice to see its gone to one of the best landings in SD.

Yes, Ron, nice report. Seeing the Premier brings back memories. I really wish that boat was still in Long Beach.

Hi Ricky-Ray,

You're quite welcome. Interesting fishery where a yellow is always a possibility anywhere !!

Hey JapanRon,

Bout time someone from the FNN came down south! Yea, I checked out all the boats at Day at the Docks last weekend and the Premier looked real pretty and shiny. I cannot think of a boat based in Point Loma that has rail numbers like they do up north. Let me know next time you plan on going out of a San Diego based landing. Thanks for the detailed report. I read them all!! Get a job..

Hi fleaflicker,

Thanks for the reply and thoughts. Same twenty regulars, that fish that boat every week on the same day were on the stern in the same order the entire trip !! Boat swung and stuck at 90, 120, 180 degrees ... follow THEIR lines to port or starboard rails ?! Yaaaa Right ! In a Perfect World !! :) :)

No Numbers ....... Good !? Only in a perfect world and a cattelboat sure ain't THAT !! :) :)

Took pictures in the past to prove MY point !! Different background same people, same order along the stern .... all day long !! Fishin' Bass and Rockfish ..... numbers or no numbers looks pretty much like the same deal to me ...... people wise !!

Have no doubt......... I respect your right to your opinion.

Hi SanDimasLMB,

I was a real trip .... and the boat was in great shape ... truth is ... it was in 3-times better shape on my visit than when I last fished her in Long Beach. Check it out ... Still same TV and gameboy set up in the corner of the galley !!

Thanks, Ya, Great fishing boat !!

Also- There are 2 other landings in San Diego that run 1/2 and 3/4 trips. Those are Seaforth and Mission Bay Landings (formerly Islandia). Both landings are right across the street from Sea World. Mission Bay Sportfishing is small with one boat running the 1/2 day ( Dolphin ) and one boat running the 3/4 ( Chubasco). The fare for the 1/2 is $40 and I'm not sure about the 3/4. The Dolphin runs half-day trips to the La Jolla kelp beds or the Point Loma kelp beds and can be real productive on the yellowtail once the summer kicks in. Weekday loads are light with heavy weekend loads. Later

Hi Shioda,

Yes .... it would be nice to have the boat back ...... and yet ..... where would it berth ? 55 has a decent 3/4, Redondo is not given up the Spit !! No room at 22nd, Harbor ??? Big boats already down Newport way.

Hi Deanhall32,

Thanks for the invite. Not to worry ... I won't make a fuss if there's no rail numbers !! :) :) I would love to experience some fishing at the Coronados a I suspect it would be so different from fishng even Catalina or Clemente ! And worth the extra ca$h it takes to get there !!

Hi again deanhall32,

Yes, I would like to hit those boats too !! I've been watching the Dolphin, San Diego, and the Daily Double for some time and will do double-dips on them one of these days !!

JapanRon, I haven't fishing any of the 1/2 day boat's in San Diego but I did fish the Chubasco II out of Islandia a few years back on a private charter trip and it's skippered by Captain Eddie...geez I'm drawing a blank on his last name right now. But he was a great captain, he worked hard to get us on the fish. I would go on the chubasco II again if I went down there for a 3/4 day.

Hi Ricky-Ray,

Thank you for the info .... I'll keep it in mind as they are a 3/4-day presently. I appreciate the fact that you've very often got something constructive to add in your replies ........ like so many here! We just can't get enough information or at least things to think over when it comes to fishing !!
