Hit up the marina again, Rez called me and said he was going to be there for a while so I decided to head there a little late for a couple hrs.

The bite was little slow, Rez said that he busted off 2 b4 I got there then he landed a smaller model as I arrived.

I ended up landing 2 Eels and one toad Ray in the 50-60 lb class.

I had someone on the dock try to photograph it for me, the photos didn’t come out too well but you get the idea…

Some great fun and my arms are now cooked from the successions of bat struggles lately.

I think it’s time to take a little break from these gut busters to let my arms recover but my goals were 50-60 lb class, I’ve reached that twice over now…mission accomplished !

Those eels are some vicious customers, they really do their best to bite you…handle with care.

Fished high tide, these ones were caught on pyramid sinker rigged squid in about 25’ of water.

This is bs...I've tried countless times to upload from photobucket, the files are too big still even at a 6" photo, the only way I got it to take is at a 4" photo which was where I was at b4 using photobucket...AND the photos still post as thumbnails !!!!

how can I get it to be a larger pic and not as the thumbnail ???

I guess I'm not doing something right....dohhhh...looks like it's old school for me...Dan if you read this, the site needs to be changed to allow easier upload of a decent size pic.........

It wasn't like this before the new format....dohhhhh...............

I love eel....yum!

Gary try clicking or dbl clicking on the last option "IMG code" and after doing so a little yellow coded pop up will say "copied"...then go to your post and hit "Ctrl+V" and it will paste a link of sorts....go to preview post to see if it works. Frustrating I know, but once you get it you are golden! Fingers crossed for ya!

Good luck and thanks for the report...they have been quite inspirational.

If worst comes to worst, you can always download a free picture organizer/editer from google. I just started using Picasa2, and it makes it rediculously easy to edit, resize, and just plain organize all my photos, be they fishin or not. Sorry to get off topic:oops: Nice goin on the fatty!

Thanks a heap, that pretty much worked as you stated, the yellow icon didn't come up all the time so I simply copied from my mouse.

Kinda allot of extra labor though, I prefer the old school style drawing the photos from a directory from my pc.
Thanks again for the assistance, I was just about ready to forget about it.

Saweet ! good coachin : )

Thanks for the props, I can't say that those suckas don't trip me out, especially with those teeth, they are always trying to bite !

Snakes don't bother me, I can hold them well but since these are slimey like a fish, they wriggle out of your hand and they create an oportunity to clamp down on ya.

I'm not sure what kind of eels they are....anyone ???

Nice job on the big arse bats! Is it possible that those are yellow-snake eels?

Gary,

Been watching your MDR post on the Big Bats and it looks like a great time.

Go Get the 100 lb. +++++++++++

Although I do not target any species when I harbor fish the Bat Challenge is always welcome to me although I am fishing the light line. There are not many species available to shore fisher's to experience the screaming drag and wish you had a fighting chair nearby.

The obstacles in the harbors are always a problem unless you fish with the heavier rigs.

Looks like you should put a Heavy Lift Crane on standby for your near future!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the props...those Rays may not have the coveted sportfish reputation that others may have but go and have some fun with them, I recommend it, it's a blast : )

it does look like that may be the species of eel, after viewing your links and having held them in my hands, it seems that is it !

Try using the eels for bait. Free of charge. No need to stop off at the store on the way.
