This may have been asked before here...what is a good, cheap, lightweight anchor to use in a float tube at our local sandy and muddy bottomed lakes. There are times when I get into a good bite (like big Bluegill at Perris) and the wind picks up and blows me out of my spot. If I had an anchor to help me stay on the fish, it would be so much easier than having to kick back against the wind to the school of fish, make a couple of casts and then be pushed out of the area.

For cheap. I use a couple 3lb. dumbells.

You can get a 12 lb anchor for $15, so a lighter one would cost less.

I bought one of these (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=45262&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults) a while ago...I've only used it once on sandy bottom....didn't work all that great, then again it isn't designed for sand.

I had one that weigh only 1 1/2 pounds and it was plenty neat. Here's the link

It only cost $20 and for another $5 u can upgrade to a 3lb one.
