I've just purchased a 1997 boston whaler outrage 17 and wanted to go to catalina. I hear that it is much safer to go buddy boating or with another more experienced boater. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to take their boat out with mine. I'm sure it would be more productive as well as we can call each other over if fishing is better in a certain area. Please help a newbie out. I will be going out with my pops out of dana pt. i believe every or almost every saturday. So if anyone cares to join us, give us a few pointers...it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

I wouldn't take anything less than a 22' closed bow boat over to Cat. But a lot of people do. Just check the weather and sea swell reoprts before you go. It can really suck in a small boat gettin slammed there and back. I launch out of Davies in Alamitos. So if your in the neighborhood PM me. I'm going out next friday, spending the night and leaving Sat. What fish are you targeting?
