Went on a 3/4 day trip out of Newport Landing.... Went to Catalina Island... VERY SLOW.... Fished Church rock and about 3 other close spots.... Looking to hook a White Seabass, NO LUCK... Captain wanted just to put some fish in the bagg so went to deeper water... We ended up putting the usual rock fish in the baggs.... Went back in close and i landed my BUTT!!!!! They said it was 37-38 inches long... I dont know how much it weigh. Got it on:

Calcutta 8ft 12-25lb rod
Calcutta 250s 12lb test w/ 12lb floro leader
1/0 owner - 1/2 slider
LIVE SQUID!!!!!!
