not sure on the weight, my scale broke as I was trying to measure it. Its the biggest I've caught.

F.Y.I. might want to check the derby rulebook. Trebles are allowed, provided they are in the fish mouth.

Rule #2
The entrant submitting the fish must have caught all fish on a rod and reel. Anglers shall use IGFA methods of fishing with the following change: Trap hooks and treble hooks will be allowed if the hook is embedded into the bait.

No treble hooks or trap rigs? While you're halibut fishing??? You're joking right???

My bad when i helped work the booth two years ago some one told me no trebles were allowed he was prob wrong?.

flea flicker you don't need trebles to catch halis or trap rigs they do work better if you no how to fish them you don't need them.

The no use of treble hooks could be in reference to breaking the state record to win the truck they had up for grabs. Treble hooks will disqualify a record fish.
I'm not real sure, just a thought.
