Bahrain Fishing

Im currently stationed in Bahrain... I just want to know have anyone done any fishing in Bahrain or the MiddleEast.

I was never stationed out there, but when our ship (USS Enterprise) pulled into port at Jebel Ali, U.A.E., I was able to do some fishing in the crystal clear harbor and caught all kinds of stuff. Big needlefish, barracuda and plenty of other species I have no name to. I was mainly fishing a Gotcha' Plug pretty fast with a stop and go action (the same way you would fish for Spanish Mackerel).

my brother is stationed out there right now, too. it's be weird if you guys knew each other, probably not though.

I've traveled extensively while I served and found that you can catch fish with most lures that resemble bait fish. Try using spoons or any other type of lure that flashes or turns - krocs, castmasters, and bucktails have all worked for me. Just go out and fish, vary your retrieves, work the water columns, and practice what you already know. Once you find something that works, stick with it and you should catch.

I went to fish over the bridge Sun but was told by the Bahrain Military partolling the bridge that there is no fishing allowed during F1 Grand Prix but after F1 Grand Prix it is allowed. I thought they was just messing with us because we were Americans but its actually a law here.
