Took a couple days off to go camping with my wife and daughter. My daughter was on Spring break so it was a perfect time to take our new Pop-Up Tent trailer out on its maiden voyage. We initially had reservations at Carpenteria State Campground, but after we checked out our campsite, we said no way in “H” were we going to stay there. We ended up camping along the beach a little north of Faria Beach.

The view was great.

Pic of the new rig, very easy to set-up and very functional.

The Perch fishing was mediocre at best, caught around 20 Barred Surf Perch and 1 Yellowfin Croaker in 2 days.

The catch of the trip was when Valerie hooked a big Shovelnose Guitarfish on 8lb test.

I had a very relaxing and wonderful time fishing and swimming with my family, and I can’t wait to do it again.

Congrats! You and your daughter looked liked you a blast. Those SVGF are really fun to catch. I caught a few at Belmont Pier in the past and I used my hands to pull the fish up from the water. No nets for me
