Dana (Fisherman57) and myself headed out North Monday morning to do some surf fishing. My arms were still sore from battling Poseidon's messenger the day before. But I didn't dare to cancel on the "Godfather." Our first stop was Carpinteria and we made our way up and down the coastline and fish several spots. The stops also included Santa Claus Lane and Seacliff.

The highlight of the day is when I took Dana rock climbing at Seacliff.
Sorry Dana, I forgot about your reconstructed ankle. That was an adventure in itself... almost thought I had to call in a helicopter rescue.
You did good Dana, you did good! ;)

It was rough surf conditions everywhere that we went. High surf made the water visibilty a bit chocolaty and we were pounded all morning. Nothing but Perch wherever we went. Got a few nice fish and I was lucky enough to catch my PB Barred Surf Perch... what a PIG!

Fisherman57 & Wingnut - Team 57 was well represented!

Didn't measure the slab but probably around 15 inches. I was throwing the LC all morning.

Good times buddy, thanks for the invite, always a pleasure fishing with you my friend. It was a great birthday gift!

Take care everybody... gotta go, I'm late for my B-Day dinner!

Arthur, I didn't know that you could get those "supersized". Once again, nice job out there! :thumb:

BTW, anyone else notice that Arthur has a new hat every time he goes fishing? :)

Great job Arthur,

between Monday and your BD present from Neptune, I think it is time to fish with FishyBoy and I on the boat---so you can feel the angst of the bite that might NOT happen !

Happy Birthday!!! No wonder the fishing Gods blessed you this weekend with all your fine catches.
My husbands B-Day was Sunday but his fishing was not soo good, we still had a good fishing weekend spending time together with family Easter day, good eats and lots of presents for him.

That was one NICE Perch Arthur...... I haven't seen one that big in a quite a while!....

When I saw you land it, the first thing I said was "That has to be your PB Barred Surf Perch"...... what a toad!

Great road trip even though it was tough fishing at times.....

Carpinteria has some nice beaches, I will be headed up there again very soon....... and "the lane" is a producer for sure, just not that day! :(

And Seacliff...... well, by then my ankle was pretty worked from working the surf at Carp and I could already feel the pins in my ankle hurting.. then I see you climb down there in like 5 seconds... and Im like.... well, lets see you do this Dana....... LOL!

I made it down there!.... just a little slow coming back up! HAHAHAHAHA!

Great time as always Arthur and that was one FEAST of a lunch we stopped and had..... man, that hit the spot! I appreciate that and certainly owe ya one back!

I didnt get all that many good photos........ heres a few though:

You lucked out C.D., I almost pulled out the measuring tape but she looked like she might be "prego" so I was in a hurry to get her back in the water. The steak dinner is still up for grabs! ;)

BSP on steroids! I belong to the Hat of the Month club...

I finally got an appointment to fish with the Man himself again. He's a fan favorite out there!

Not late at all Terry, my B-day was actually on Monday.
You gotta get out there with us one of these days... I would say, maybe on the 6th. ;)

I really like the SB Coast too, it's as peaceful as it is picturesque.
The WSB is on my target list TD... on of these days.

Hey Rich, only if you came back from AZ a day sooner, you'd be out there with us. See ya in about a week. :D

Nice Bluegill!!!
You have to learn how to fish first bro, before I take you out there. I wouldn't want for you to be shark meat. Stop working so much & I'll take you fishing. I work a lot, but I always find the time.

I was busy checking out the "scenery" when that Perch slammed the LC. Fought like a big YFC. When it slid up on the sand, I was like... "Well hello there little Piggie." My biggest BSP to date.
I could tell that some of the spots that we hit can produce under better condition, lots of nice structures. We have to go back soon. We'll skip Seacliff next time though. ;) I'm still full from our lunch... that was one great steak! Nice photos, but I think you left out a couple...
