Most Islanders and Asians buy their Tilapia from the Asian markets still alive. Then they have them deep fry it and ready to eat. Found a really nice a tasty way to make Tilapia and a little bit healther.

My step-dad is a big fisherman and has alot of connections throughout So Cal. He's not an internet person, so I know he'll never see this thread. He gets these farm raised Tilapias that are sooo sweet, it'll make your mouth water.

Recipe:

One Tilapia
1 Onion - diced in small cubes
3 Tomatoes - diced in cubes
minced garlic (depends how much you like garlic)
2 fresh jalepeno peppers - chopped up

1) Season the Tilapia ouside with Salt and Pepper, and place in foil (sprayed with Pam)

2) Stuff Tilapia in the middle with onion, tomatoe, garlic, and jalepeno mix.

3) Cover the fish with the foil, sealing it closed

4) BBQ on pit for about 25 min, turning every 5 min

Once cooked, prepare dipping sauce

Dipping Sauce:

Soy Sauce, A little Vinager, Garlic, Pepper, and chopped fresh jalepeno.

This is so good with rice. Gotta try it.

Arthur, I wouldn't eat anything out of that lake. I used to jog around there when I used to live in the Valley.

Yeah, the live ones that you buy from 99 Ranch Market are great! They'll clean it & fry it up for you on the spot. :D
