View Full Version : Owens River 3-14 & 3-15 w/pics

Excuse me if my report is not as elaborate and interesting as some here, but I am exhausted from our trip, and I just got home.

Up on the Owens river, the weather was really nice today and yesterday, aside from some wind, although it wasnt unbearable. I personally nailed 24 fish yesterday. Our whole group did quite well, with each of us landing a couple nice sized ones. (Pics below of mine) Today, we only fished for like 3 hours, and I was able to hook into about 7 fish, including one more nice sized trout. The ticket for me was a chartreuse power worm and amino egg, though others were landed on just about anything. Very good fishing the past 2 days as far as I could see, though some guys we came across were complaining about not catching anything. (Lack of skills maybe? ;) )

It has been over a year at least since I last made it up to the Sierras, and it certainly didnt let me down this time. I personally had a great time. Bishop is such a nice little town, and Jacks restaurant once again served up some great grub. (Aside from selling out of prime rib before we got there last night)

You were fishing today and a report tonight. Who could complain? Nice report. I wish I could be in the Sierras right now.

There's no such thing as a un-interesting report of the Sierras.

how did your buddies do at pvr?

Way to go Baadfish....glad to hear you had a succesful trip up the 395! Nice looking fish too.... oh were the guys complaining about the skunk wearing angel hats by chance? :rofl:

Im pretty sure it was down Line St.....We just parked right at the warm springs, and then just walk to different spots on the river.

As for PVR, they said they caught a few, but nothing of decent size. They said that the reservoir was quite low, which didnt make for good fishing.

Hahah....actually I think one had a Giants cap on.....though a few of them did whine like Angels fans.... ;)

Great post, looks like you did well. This is a great time of year coming up. Trout season in the Sierras is getting ready to open and ANGELS BASEBALL is about to began.

True Dodger Blue...i have my lucky 1952 Brooklyn Dodgers hat i wear when i fish...if your going up to Bishop/Owens River area April 18-21 youll see me...rockin my Dodger Blue...

Nice Fish...hopein i catch mea couple fattys when im up there..

before valdy got there i didnt hear a peep from angel fans...oh ya i forgot they beat the giants in that world series when MLB was no good...

Good luck up there bro! Actually I will be up there that week, but I wont be there til April 23rd or 24th, so hopefully Ill catch you fishing some other time and we can talk not only fishing, but some good ol True Blue Dodger Baseball!!!!
