Got up 2 am to be the first ones in the landing. And sure enough we where . We left the dock at 6am sharp Met up with a bait boat and tanked us with about 15-20 scoops of live squid.

We got around the island around 8 - 8:30 Condtion was crazy winds blowing all over the place.Current was terrible like a washing machine one minuite its going left the next its going right . Was very slow the whole day we move from place to place looking for yellows with hook ups here and there for the whole boat. Nothing was really hitting . Second stop 2 yellows where decked. And one at every stop we made. I managed to get the last yellow of the trip .7-10 lbs i think.

Dont believe the fish count on the net from what i counted it was 6 yellows ,5 calicos bass, 1 sheephead and 6 blue perch for 30 anglers most of those fish where caught by us 6 who caught yellows.

my count 1 yellow and 1 treefish which they didnt put in the count

Hi hakaveli,

Way to go! 2am !!! A guy after my own heart! For Catalina .... you want to have a spot that you feel is to your best advantage (best for the way you fish) or ELSE ....... as you well know!!

I love Tree Fish. Very strange but I have good luck in catching them with tube-lures or the old finger-jigs and yes ....... a strip of squid!

Good to read a report from ya!!
