Alamitos Bay, Belmont Pier etc..

I just moved to Belmont Shore and have fished the pier a little. I am trying to find other decent spots in the area to fish. I used to go out on Alamitos Bay all the time in little skiff and we always would catch quite a number of fish (Bass, Croakers, Rays etc). I know I used to see people out on the breakwater. I haven't really explored that option. Anyone with any info on how to get out there and if it is a good spot to fish from the shore?

Basically, I am look for spots to shore fish from in the area.

P.S. I am going to be buying a Kayak soon for the bay.

Hi thanks for posting this thread. I would also be interested in any responses regarding any jetty fisherman in the Belmont Shore area. I have fished the pier a handful of times, and have only caught herring (queenfish). How are the jetty's in the Belmont Shore area? Anyone have any insight on this subject?
