Conditions were tough on friday and saturday. Very windy with some snow in the mornings. On Sunday the weather warmed up and the wind calmed down. Weather could have been better but still a very nice trip. Hangin out in the sierra's (even in the snow) with the fella's is better than work anyday!

It weighed 8.8lbs. and i actually caught it using 2lb test. Without the help of my buddies to net him I don't know if I could have landed him.

The first fish is nice, but that creek fish is a real fat boy. NICE!

Nice report. It would be easier to crop your head out of the picture than erasing your face.

Nice Alpers. I know what you mean about landing it, the 8lb, 4oz. Alpers from 2004 in my profile pic. took a team effort also, I was using an old rod, with really old cracked leader (broke a few times tieing on the hook) and I was sure I'd loose it right up near shore, but the team kicked in and though not the most elegant landing we landed it nonetheless. Like they say, any landing you can walk away with the fish is a good landing !!

I hear ya. As soon as I saw how big he was I started freaking out. "Bring the net, right, left, in front of you" was all I could yell to my buddies to land the biggun before my 2lb snapped. Thank goodness 4 a descent drag or those runs he took up stream could have been the end of it.
