I normally fish the Delta for fall Stripers and wanted fish Lake Skinner in the next month or so. Any tips are welcome, if you have questions about the Delta, perhaps I can help out...thanks in advance

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH, the beauty of lake skinner.
first, i would rent or bring a boat.

troll your way to the inlet, using rattle l or small swim baits.
there might be morning boils so keep an eye out , and a swim bait rod ready.
once you get to the inlet, CHOVIES AND LIVER WORKS BEST.
STILL , keep an eye out for boils.

swimbaiters do best in early morning and late afternoon.

I've had good luck at Skinner fishing a chunk of anchovy with a split shot. I don't fish the spillway but instead I find a spot where it drops off from 35' to 50' and anchor there. I've pulled hundreds of limits out of Skinner in the last 20 years doing this.
Good luck!

They would probably work great, but unfortunately, they are not legal down here. At certain times of year i have seen people netting shad in Skinner, but I have never tried that.
Last year in April I caught a bunch of stripers trolling a green/gold blade roostertail while trolling for trout.

Hey Richard, you probably have come and gone, however this is some excellent, right on the money advice! Did the same thing with jerkbaits at the inlet and slayed'em!!! :2guns: Next time you're down, hook it up!

skinner is a great lake, with $hitty rentals.
i fish it year round , and stripers can be caught in winter season also.
on the other side of the inlet , holds some l.m.b. if intrested.
ive seen 10lbers swim under the boat......A SIGHT TO SEA.
