Wader/tube question

Alright I am about to go out and get some waders but I was wondering do you hook up the waders to the float tube or do you just get in the middle of it and tred water?? better get yourself a good wader belt and/or pfd buddy!

You'll sink like a stone if you should happend to fall out and your waders fill with water. PFD is actually Life Guard required I believe although I never wear one. Just lucy I hven't gotten a ticket I guess.
