Tiki God Yellowtail (pics)

Hit LJ on Saturday with my friend Todd. the day started at 2:30am in Todd,s kitchen. seeing how we haven't seen each other in a few months we haven't exchanged Christmas gifts, of course he had to give me something fishing related but what got was not expected. he got me a Tiki god from Hawaii.

so all the way to LJ we were joking that we would finally get the skunk off because of the lucky Tiki.......... And it did :D


Launched at arount 5am to knee slappers. paddled strait to the reserve buoy ant started fishing. had a dropper loop on 40# with some fresh dead squid that i had cough a few weeks ago. and i had a Tady C on 25# for
yo yoing. after about 30 min of no love i finally got a bite on the squid so i set the hook and fish on so i put the rod between my legs and started bringing in the jig when it happened. WAMM I get hit on the jig. now i'm stuck trying to keep the line tight on two fish that r going different directions. I'm calling to Todd to come over so i can hand off one of the fish when the line goes slack on the bait rod. so i get it that rod out of the way and concentrate on the other fish. after about 15 min i get the fish to gaff. and i land my Personal best yellow on a yak :twisted:

we guessed it was 25# or better.
well I'm going to be out there again tomorrow 2/12 if anyone is interested in joining me.

Nice yellow way to go, might want to try a heavier jig then a tady c for yoyoing, but since you got it on that jig go get another one tommorow! :D
