Hit HH again today. Been a dang month and a half since I fished my boat... :x :x PICS TO COME LATER ON tonite. My Bro-in-law & I were looking 4 sandies and halis.
The day started out beautiful. The boat ran wonderfully (After having the 100hr service on the motor, and replacing a dead battery)
We launched around 8:30 to little to no wind, sea temps of 55.9, and air temps around 60 w/plenty o'sunshine. The mountains were clearly visible with a nice coating of the white stuff on em.

We first fished around Esther for my bro catching one 12.25" sandy. Hooray, we were on the board! CPR'd her to grow up.
Then, we headed over to LB, bought some nice med. size 'dines, and fished the area nearby for nothing more than a few bites, and 2 top smelt that we placed in the bait tank(I HAD to see what was hangin down on the sonar in BIG schools! I used my trout rod with a #14 trebel and squid)
We saw a pod of bottlenose dolphins VERY closeby which was cool. They were right off the end of the breakwall.
We tried gulp, frozen squid, live 'dines, and any combo thereof. NADA.
Headed over to a shipwreck for nothing but some obnoxious perch bites that solely removed the lil tails on the end of my Gulps.
Plus, the current here was VERY strong and we were having a difficult time just anchoring on the spot.
Nice view of the mountains (And smog) from the sea.

Left there after ZERO, and hit up Eva....ZILCH at Eva.   Okkkkkk, so it was still a beautiful day, and I was really enjoying the solitude.
Radioed to anyone on the flats, but they said it was slow, so we just headed back to Esther since that was the only place we had anything resembling a catch.
We made several drift by it and had multiple bites till FINALLY, I get bit, NOooo, its a snag! Noooooooo, Its fighting.....and it';s fighting HARD! Sandy? Nope,
no headshakes and spurts of power, just HEAVYYYYYYY. I reel it in, and it turns out to be a 5lb. Cabezon! She was a real beaut with pretty light blue lips/mouth! I was stoked just to stave off the skunkola! She was a nice fish, very fat and we CPR'd her too.
