Heres my last abalone dinner [ 1 more left going to alan , One _ Leg ] I lightly fried in bread crumbs and garlic butter . I just sent away for the low tide chart book for northern cal. and will be planning trips soon , as my vehicle will be full anyone can join me if they want to fallow me up north . [ I have all the info. needed ] Heres some pics of my recipe and I hope this makes you HUNGRY ! ] A dinner of this size would cost you in a resturant a minimum of $ 250.00 dollars , when you make a trip up north you are allowed 3 abalones . [ about 4x of the dinners shown ] plus 1 dinner I make into a ceviche with the trim peices . Notice the Coors Light , What ever you do don't try this with bud light as you may hurt yourself , lol

Does abalone have a unique flavor or can you compare it to some other type of seafood?

Abalone is kinda hard to explain , it has a texture to it but mainly its the butter and bread crumbs for taste . you need to try it sometime , its a taste everyone would like . its also very easy to get ,no need to go deeper than your waist in the water and being up and seeing the north coast is a reward in itself .

There is an Asian market by my home that sells farmed raised Abalone. I think its farmed raised. They are very small. Will these Abalone taste good too ?

TM65 , The farm raised abs are good eating just smaller than the big red abalone from the north coast . its mainly on how you prepare them , pound em good and fry quick with med. heat // db
