As always, new stuff to me may not be new to others... but, I just ran across this anchor that looks interesting. The white "bubbles" on the anchor are air-filled and they say that the anchor automatically rights itself on the bottom for a hook everytime... any thoughts about this?

I went to the link that you provided. It seems to me that any device that would have any bit of flotation would decrease the ability to get hooked quickly. If you are metering fish and find a spot you would want that hook down there as fast as possible.

I saw this at the Newport Boat Show:

(compares and rates several types of anchors)

Extremely pricey. There was a scaled down demo illustrating how well this anchor works in both rocky bottoms and sand. It performed well. The recommended weight of the anchor relative to boat weight seemed exceedingly heavy though, but I think it is intended to hit the bottom fast.
