Hi! I am fishing Hensley lake this weekend, any tips? We went last weekend and only caught a small one on a drop shot. Any feedback would help. Thanks!

Here's the latest report courtesy of the Fresno Bee newspaper:

Hensley Lake

**Bass **Trout **Catfish **Crappie

Few bass or trout reports. A trout plant is scheduled for next week. The lake came up 738 acre-feet to 14% capacity.

During spring to late fall, I would slowly troll minnows by the dam for keeper LMB. But you can really catch them anywhere, as long as you have covers for them. It's kind of early for a good bite. Good luck out there.

The last I heard Lake Hensley only has 11% capacity.

It normally has 24 miles of shoreline so at 11% that means there's 2.64 miles of the lake left!

You might want to call 559 673-5151 before you go.

I doubt the boat launch is accessible.

If Hensley Lake doesn't work for you, you can also try Eastman Lake which is only a 20 minute drive away. Good Luck!

Thanks everbody! Went up and caught a four pounder on a swimbait. Other than that the lake was dead. If you are lokking for trout, you might want to hit it up, I was going for bass.
