Want to try some fishing from the beach this year and have a question regarding the requirements. Do you need the ocean stamp to fish on ths So Cal beaches? :?

Then I guess my other question would be where can you fish in the ocean without the stamp? Would that be only in Northern CA?

Geez, the new 2008 ocean stamp is $4.45 for the whole YEAR ! ! !
Of course you have to have a $38.85 Lic to stick it on.... :lol: :lol:
I guess no one really knows the difference, including the guy at Wally World when I asked him the question when I bought this years license...

GRab a salt stamp! Then all you gotta do is look for no fishing signs, as they're everywhere you aren't supposed to be fishing :lol:
The weird part is fishing with the surfers :shock: Seems like an accident waiting to happen. I try to be careful but they really can't see what's going on with your line and will wrap right up in it no problem. They are the lake lice of the ocean :lol:

You can fish from piers and jetty's with no license from what i understand. I would suggest just buying the sticker.

Ocean waters north of Point Arguello, near Lompoc. BTW, the stamp is called the "[url=http://www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/fishing/fishdescrip.html:cb094]Ocean Enhancement Stamp[/url:cb094]".

Yeah you can, but I'd rather fish on a beach all by myself than with 10 other people in the same little area.

yeah same goes for me don't waste your time wondering where u dont need it just buy it. and usually the employees that work in the fishing/hunting/sporting goods section at walmart/ wally world, are just kids looking for an after school Job. Once in a while you get lucky with an employee that is a fellow fishermen or outdoorsmen.
