I have a 14 foot skiff and want to bow mount a trolling motor. My problem is that the only flat surface is way too small. Does anyone have any pics of their small boat with a bow mounted motor. Any suggestions. Will try to put up pics in a bit.

Thanks

What you do it get some alluminum L shapped pieces of sheet metal, used stainless steal hardway to bolt them on the inside of the top lip of the bow, you can then use more stainless steal hardway to bolt a 3/4 piece of plywood(marine grade or poly coted) that is cut to fit the curve of the bow, thust expanding the flat surface you have to mount the motor.

I think I'm gonna look for some 1/4" aluminum plate and fit it to my needs. Anybody know where I could get it?

You can get it here:

But 1/4" is way over kill for what you need.

What thickness would work without it flexing? 1/8 seems too thin, 3/16?

Thanks, I was hoping for someplace local so I could have it cut and beveled. I'm looking for a triangular plate that's around 26 inches across on the bottom.

3/16 should be fine.
Pattons has several yards in SoCal. They can shear your plate to any size you need.
